EVENT DATES

Thursday, May 11th
Friday, May 12th

This two-part talk series will explore the inner and outer aspects of the spiritual life, helping us to see beyond any perceived conflict between having a genuine meditative life and being socially engaged. For many practitioners of Buddhism – or other spiritual traditions – these two aspects can seem at odds. Do we turn inwards into our meditation and forsake our world? Or do

we engage in social and justice concerns and turn away from spiritual practice? Buddhism teaches that all things are non-dual, without inherent conflict or hindrance. These talks and discussions will explore these perennial questions within a time of great social and global concern.

Each evening will offer a talk followed by questions and discussion with the audience.

* Before each lecture, Shugen Sensei will give meditation instructions to those who are interested.

Doors open at 6:00 PM. • Discounts available–financial hardship will never be a barrier to participation.
