Don’t miss out on a captivating journey into the hidden world of your own backyard! Join local macro photographer and business owner Rachel Stepien for a fun and educational presentation that brings the tiny, often overlooked creatures of your garden and yard into focus.

Through her detailed photography, Rachel will introduce you to a fascinating array of insects and arachnids living right outside your door, unveiling their incredible roles in nature and why they’re vital to your ecosystem.

Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or simply curious about the natural world, this presentation will aim to change the way you look at the insects and spiders in your own backyard. Come for the photography, stay for the insights on how you can protect the life around you—and make your garden a safe haven for all the creatures that matter.

Meet your speaker, Rachel Stepien!

Rachel Stepien is an entomologist, wildlife advocate, and semi-professional macro photographer with a deep love for all things nature. Born in Youngstown, NY, and now calling West Seneca, NY home, Rachel’s fascination with insects and spiders began in her childhood and has only grown stronger over the years.

Her education is as diverse as her interests—Rachel holds an associate’s degree in entomology through the US Air Force, a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Behavior, Ecology, and Conservation from Canisius University, and is currently a New York State Master Naturalist Trainee.
