THE BIG AUCTION OF SMALL WORKS IS BACK

Buffalo Arts Studio’s Live on Five auction and fundraiser makes the work of
Western New York’s most coveted artists accessible to all

Saturday, March 11, 7–11pm

BUFFALO, NEW YORK —Julia Bottoms. Jozef Bajus. Gary Wolfe. Millie Chen. Muhammad Z. Zaman. Pam Glick. These names are just a tiny sampling of the artists’ work you may find (among so many more) at Live on Five 2023, Buffalo Arts Studio’s big auction of small works.

Building on the success of the past few years, Live on Five 2023 will expand to include not one but two galleries of 5" x 5" works—all starting at $25 with “bid now” limits of $250—and multiple cash bars as part of a live bidding party.

On Saturday, March 11, the live auction and fundraiser will take over the galleries with art, music, and more. From 7–11 pm, guests are invited to see the pieces they are bidding on live and in-person while enjoying drinks from the cash bar, lively music, and good company.

Attendees can expect to make some hard decisions as part of the live mobile auction featuring nearly 500 original 5" x 5" works by more than 200 local artists. The complete list of participating artists for Live on Five will be announced at the end of February.

To start that decision-making process early, Buffalo Arts Studio will have the artwork on display from March 4–11, giving everyone the chance to see it in person before bidding goes live March 9 and closes the night of the bidding party.

“Buffalo Arts Studio is known for hosting great parties,” said Executive Director Alma Carrillo. “We are thrilled to bring hundreds of artists and their work into Buffalo Arts Studio for this live event. It is so exciting to meet artists alongside their work and then to add that artwork to your collection!”

Bidding for work on display in the front gallery will close at 8:30 pm and bidding for work on display in the Joanna Angie Gallery will close at 9:30 pm, giving everyone a chance to win new artwork and add to their collections.

For tickets and all the details on when the exhibition is on view (March 4–11), the live bidding period (March 9–11), and the exciting live bidding party (the evening of March 11), visit the event page on Buffalo Arts Studio’s website at https://www.buffaloartsstudio.org/live-on-five-2023/
