Part of the Mission Statement of the Buffalo International Jewish Film Festival notes that it “…is dedicated to providing an educational and entertaining cultural experience to the general community…”.

Now in its 34th year, the Festival has striven to obtain the very best new independent international films which should not only amuse and enthrall the viewer, but should also invite contemplation on societal issues of ethics and justice.

Consider the #MeToo dilemma of “Working Woman” whose protagonist must support her family, while fending off unwanted advances from her boss.

In “The Waldheim Waltz”, witness a case study of how a lying, deceitful power-monger rises to the Presidency of his country by concealing his motives and past actions.

“Who Will Write Our History” speaks to the authenticity of historical events, as opposed to false interpretations. And “The Accountant Of Auschwitz” asks us to sit in judgment in a nuanced case of collusion.

Additionally, we invite you to attend a presentation by a local film producer with some very impressive credits. This year’s Festival is a feast for both the spirit and the mind.
