Concluding the 10th season of BABEL will be Dave Eggers. Eggers burst onto the national literary stage with his memoir "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius" in 2000. Since then he has continued to re-create his first success, most recently with his novel "A Hologram for the King" which was made into a major motion picture starring Tom Hanks. He is the founding editor of the wildly popular McSweeney’s and is also well-known for his philanthropic venture 826 Valencia which supports under-served students ages 6-18 with their writing skills and provides resources to teachers to help them get students excited about the literary arts.
