An inventive concert saluting the 80th birthday of Joan Tower, one of our country’s most important composers, and featuring a new work from R.E.M. bassist Mike Mills written for his friend Robert McDuffie and a rock band, with arrangements and additional music by David Mallamud. “Pictures,” Modest Mussorgsky’s musical memorial to his artist friend, Viktor Hartmann, was first a piece for solo piano, but as orchestrated by Maurice Ravel, it has become a staple of the popular classical canon. Friday - Come at 9:30 AM  for complimentary coffee and doughnuts. Saturday - Come at 7 PM for Musically Speaking sponsored by Uniland Development.
