After 12 happy years as a local staple at farmers’ markets and festivals, Spices & Mixes by Milly will be opening its first permanent storefront on May 3 in the Southgate Plaza (under the name Spices & Teas by Milly), located at 1042 Union Road, West Seneca. 

Spices & Mixes by Milly has brought its unique and quality assortment of spices, mixes, soups, dips, teas, salsas and more to thousands of customers all over Western New York, finding seasonal homes in several well known locations in the area such as the Broadway Market, East Aurora Farmers’ Market and the Hamburg Fairgrounds. Starting this summer, after much demand, customers will finally be able to visit their favorite spice vendor seven days a week, all year long.

Customers have come to know Milly Ferrer, the owner of Spices & Mixes by Milly, for not only her competitive prices and quality products, but also for her warm and personal approach to customer service. Milly dedicates her business to making every moment a customer spends around her spices feel special, mixing all of her blends (all of which are her own recipes) herself by hand, and greeting and engaging with her customers personally through the language of food. As a proud Latina-American growing up around her grandmother's restaurant in Brooklyn, food was and has always been something special to Milly for the way it could bring different people and cultures together. 

“At Abuelita’s restaurant, it always felt like everyone there was home,” said Milly. “No matter where you came from, this was always a home for you because there was always a delicious meal waiting. Everyone felt like family there and it was all because of the food. That was always important to my grandmother and now that I have my own business it’s important to me.”

Spices & Teas by Milly will have a grand opening event at the Southgate Plaza on May 3 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a soft opening on May 2. The first 100 customers through the doors on May 3, 4 and 5 will receive a gift and will be the first to learn about Milly’s upcoming loyalty program and recipe exchange as well as any other specials and deals for the summer season.
