In celebration of American Heart Month, Macerich's Fashion Outlets Niagara Falls USA is hosting the inaugural One Heart One Mile Winter Wellness Walk on Saturday, Feb. 25. With proceeds benefitting the Western New York American Heart Association (WNY AHA), walkers will start at 9:15 a.m. and follow a one-mile path around the mall before enjoying post-event refreshments and entertainment from health-focused vendors.

“Fashion Outlets Niagara Falls USA is proud to support the Buffalo Niagara American Heart Association to raise funds and awareness for our community’s health,” said John Doran, Senior Manager of Macerich’s Fashion Outlets Niagara Falls. “The last Niagara County Heart Walk was in 2005. We’re very excited to bring the tradition back to the County after more than 10 years and rally the community together for a great cause.”

Local Niagara Falls business including Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, Catholic Health System and Walsh Duffield have signed on as sponsors of the event.

There is a $25 (tax deductible) registration fee to walk. Walkers are encouraged to register prior to the event by visiting FashionOutletsNiagara.com, or on-site the morning of the event beginning at 8:30 am. Paid registrants will receive a ‘Give Fashionably’ swag bag with special offers and promotional items.

“Heart disease is the number one cause of death in nation, and stroke is the third,” said Jesse Ladoue, Heart Walk Director, Buffalo Niagara American Heart Association. “We invite and encourage everyone to come out and join Fashion Outlets Niagara Falls USA and the Buffalo Niagara American Heart Association for this family-friendly event as we raise awareness and get our steps in to fight heart diseases and stroke in our community.”
