Ghosts: French Holocaust Children photography exhibit by artist, curator, educator and historian Robert Hirsch, former Executive Director and Chief Curator of CEPA Gallery, founder of Southern Light Gallery, and co-founder of North Light Gallery. Hirsch is an author those books include Seizing the Light: A Social & Aesthetic History of Photography. The exhibit will be on display from Monday May 6— Friday June 28, 2019.

The exhibit, Ghosts: French Holocaust Children, tells the history of how during World War II, more than 11,000 Jewish children were deported from France to Auschwitz and other Nazis death camps in convoys that continued until Paris was liberated on August 18, 1944. Ghosts: French Holocaust Children, is a three-dimensional photo-based installation that commemorates these children's abbreviated lives. This 600 plus portrait anthology is a composite of a historical archive and a photo-based narrative. Ghosts acts as an interdisciplinary vehicle for bridging barriers between audiences and institutions by addressing societal conditions that lead to the monstrous behaviors regarding anti-Semitism, identity, loss, memory and racism. Details available at: www.LightResearch.net
