Learn more about history's ebb and flow in the City of North Tonawanda, the place "of swift flowing waters,” during Explore Buffalo’s May Spotlight Tour at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 18. Participants will visit three separate locations formerly housing a library on the National Register of Historic Places, now the Carnegie Art Center; a popular bowling alley and restaurant, now the North Tonawanda History Museum; and a city landmark church, now The Old Chapel Antiques and Artisan Market.

Each place has been transformed with a new use which honors the past while contributing to the present and future growth of the local as well as regional community. Special interior tours will take place at each location.

Guests are asked to meet at 10:30 a.m. inside the Carnegie Art Center, 240 Goundry St., North Tonawanda. Please park in the back lot adjacent to the building. Nearby parking is also available on local streets.

Since the full tour covers approximately three miles, to save time and personal energy, participants are asked to use their cars going from one location to the next. The Carnegie Art Center, North Tonawanda History Museum, and the Old Chapel Antiques and Artisan Market each have parking lots.

Space on this tour is limited and reservations are required. This tour is approximately 2.5 hours in length. Interior photography is permitted.

The cost is $25 general admission and $20 for Explorer Pass holders. For reservations, please visit explorebuffalo.org or call (716) 245-3032.
