The Niagara Frontier Doll Club’s 31st annual Doll Show & Sale will take place from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, in the University at Buffalo Center for Tomorrow on Flint Road in Amherst.

This year’s event will feature antique and collectible dolls, bears, miniatures and related items, plus an educational exhibit on cloth dolls from antique to modern. The sales room will offer antique bisque dolls, china dolls, papier mache, cloth, composition dolls, and vintage to modern vinyl and plastic dolls including Madame Alexander, Betsy McCall, Vogue, Tonner and American Girl. Door prizes and fabulous freebie tables will also be offered.

Admission is just $5 per person, with children under 12 admitted free. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Stella Niagara Women’s Respite Program (WRP) and the Matt Urban Center.

The WRP was founded in 1989 to provide respite to single mothers with low income. The program has since expanded to include retreats for all mothers with low income, grandmothers raising grandchildren, women with cancer and alumnae of previous retreats.

Located on Buffalo’s East Side, the Matt Urban Center is a multi-faceted agency providing housing services, senior services, senior apartments, a weatherization program, youth and family services, homeless outreach services, GED and work skills training, crime victims assistance and three food pantries.
