Starlight Studio and Art Gallery and Eleven Twenty Projects is co-hosting Co-Artifact, an exhibition and silent art auction featuring artworks created collaboratively by a Starlight and a community artist, on Thursday, May 9th, 2019 from 6-9 PM at Eleven Twenty Projects, 1120 Main Street, Buffalo, NY 14209. The event will showcase two artworks created by each pair, music by DJ Icky Reels, and light refreshments. Other works by the Starlight artists will also be up for sale and we are featuring local fare at this event.

Co-Artifact brings 15 artists from the community and 15 Starlight artists together to create collaborative artworks. For this project, each artist is asked to create a piece of artwork in the medium and size of his or her choice. A Starlight artist and a community artist are then paired up, switch artworks, and complete the other’s work. The 30 resulting artworks will be available for the community to bid on until 8 PM the night of the event. This year's participating artists include: Caitlin Cass with Mary Schneider, Kate Gaudy with John Montedoro, Pam Glick with Sonya Lewis, Bobby Griffiths with Eric Johnson, Tom Holt with Ron Steele, Ani Hoover with Debbie Bowers, Billy Huggins with Jocelyn Triggle, Kyla Kegler with Kimber Rodgers, Kevin Kline with Andy Calderon, Bethany Krull with Chace Lobley, Bethany Moody with Paul Chandler, Shasti O’Leary-Soudant with Ebony Valentin, Mark Tomko with Janet Harrison, Rebecca Wing with Mathew Sharp, and Sara Zak with Dana Graap.

All proceeds will benefit the Starlight Studio, a vibrant non-profit art studio located in downtown Buffalo that supports adults with disabilities in their artistic development. Created by the Learning Disabilities Association of Western New York (LDA of WNY) in 2005, it’s the first of its kind in WNY. Through technical assistance by professional artists and opportunities for representation, the Starlight artists hone their artistic interests; become stronger advocates, and better-integrated citizens. Starlight is directing the proceeds of this event toward the development of health and wellness programming that can be offered in addition to art making.
