Hear Clinton Brown and Ramona Whitaker talk about their work on this beautiful book about the Elmwood Historic District, Becoming Elmwood: Buffalo’s Olmsted Parkway Neighborhood will educate and enlighten you about how this special, nationally significant place came to be, in highly readable text based on the original research and scholarly text of the successful Elmwood National Register of Historic Places nominations.

The text, maps, graphics, and photos will relate the Elmwood story for the first time ever, starting with the arrival on the Niagara Frontier of Joseph Ellicott, continuing through the role played by Olmsted’s parks and parkways, and into the modern era. The definative book on the Elmwood District.
