ABOUT THE TEACHING ARTIST: TATIANA RYCKMAN
Tatiana Ryckman’s pockets are a laundry day’s nightmare – seeds, rocks, bits of plants. This detritus is the first step in creating inks, extracted pigments, and sometimes snacks. Tatiana’s work is playfully misanthropic, using plant-based materials as a soothing reminder that our time here is brief. In addition to her visual work, Tatiana has been a writer in residence at Yaddo and is the author of the novel The Ancestry of Objects and a novella, I Don’t Think of You, Until I Do. She can be found in Buffalo, NY and at tatianaryckman.com.
