The Western New York Book Arts Center presents, Mogu Mogu ~ Munch Munch, an exhibition by Harumo Sato, on view from March 25th through April 29th, 2016. An opening reception to celebrate the exhibition will be held on Friday, March 25th from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m at 468 Washington St. in Buffalo. This event is free and open to the public.

The exhibition features Harumo Sato’s illustrations in the form of screen prints, and life size stickers. In this exhibition Sato asks the audience to rediscover their essential relationship with food. Throughout the exhibit Sato references Japanese mythology about the harvest goddess Ogetsuhime who kindly serves food that magically comes from all orifices: her eyes, her ears, her nose, her vagina, and her anus. She invites the viewer on a tasty journey of humanity and life with humor ~ Bon appétit! Sato’s exhibition will be on display for WNYBAC’s 8th Annual Edible Book Festival Saturday, April 2nd from 3 – 6 p.m.

Sato’s show is the second in the 5 x 12 series at WNYBAC, a NYSCA-funded yearlong residency program which features five artists over the course of twelve months. Gallery hours are 12-6pm, Wednesday-Saturday. Admission to the gallery is always free.
