Power & Progress: Buffalo’s Black Rock Lock

The Black Rock Historical Society announces a photographic exhibit that includes 21 large photos, taken by the US Army Corps of Engineers of the building of the Black Rock Lock from the early nineteenth century, workers who built it and its construction are shown in extraordinary detail. The exhibit also includes an aerial view and photos of the Lock as it is seen today.
Some of the photos will be published in the Grant Amherst Business Association’s upcoming book A Pictorial History of Black Rock, Buffalo, New York that will be released this fall.
The event is free and open to the public.
