The Western New York Book Arts Center (WNYBAC) presents Translation: The work of Jozef Bajus and Olga Bajusova, guest curated by Elisabeth Samuels on view from November 13th through December 12th, 2015. An opening reception to celebrate the exhibition will be held on Friday, November 13th from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m at 468 Washington St. in Buffalo. This event is free and open to the public.

This exhibition will showcase Bajus’ intriguing sculptural works alongside his late wife’s whimsical story and magazine illustrations, creating a cohesive installation of the book in many forms. While Bajus’ work searches for textures and shapes outside written text, Bajusova’s work directly relates to the written word it accompanies. However different, at the heart of each artist’s work is the shared ability to act as translator, to transform what is given, finding new meaning and poetic clarity in raw material.

Bajus’ & Bajusova’s show is the fifth in the 5 x 12 series at WNYBAC, a NYSCA-funded yearlong residency program which features 5 artists over the course of twelve months. Gallery hours are 12-6pm, Wednesday-Saturday. Admission to the gallery is always free
