Advice on what to see and do in Buffalo is all too often limited to visiting the Albright-Knox, Niagarara Falls and the Anchor Bar for wings. Now, I love the A-K, and Niagara Falls is breathtaking, but come on, folks. There is so much more.

Lynn Freehill-Maye has caught the new Buffalo vibe perfectly. With the possible exception of the Darwin Martin House (forgiven - it's awesome), her Guide to Your Next Buffalo Visit on Afar.com/magazine (April 21, 2016) lives up to its "shareline": Look out America: Buffalo is the latest spot to visit. Not sure what a "shareline" is, but I love this one. The sub-head works, too: "Innovative placemakers are infusing this old industrial city with stylish, new life." Indeed.

Check out her recommendations: Larkin Square, Babeville, RiverWorks, Five Points Bakery and Tipico. Good grief. This list could only have been compiled by a local. If Freehill-Maye is not a local, she at least took the time and made the effort to consult with folks in the know in Bflo.

Afar Magazine strives to "inspire and guide those who travel the world to connect with its people, experience their cultures, and understand their perspectives." I give it an A+ based on this refreshing article, and on its extensive list of Local Experts who "earn their titles based on their great highlights and neighborhood savvy." What a concept.
