Here's a new way to look at Buffalo: through the eyes of its authors. More than 60 local wordsmiths will be signing their labors of love at the Buffalo History Museum on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

The number of authors vying to participate in this annual local literary extravaganza grows every year. And the dozens who you can meet and greet and get to inscribe a book just for you or someone you know will love it, are just a few of those who labor to tell their stories and ours.

I know this because I am a publisher. In fact, I am proud to share that more than a dozen of the books being signed at the Museum this year were published by Buffalo Heritage Press. It is such a privilege to work with local authors, photographers and artists.

For example, Christopher Hyzy's new B is for Buffalo: An Aerial Alphabet book will premiere on Saturday. Fabulous drone photography provides a bird's eye look at Buffalo's beautiful architecture, from the Albright-Knox to Temple Beth Zion. A most beautiful overview of Buffalo.

The annual Local Author Signing event at the History Museum is a wonderful way to shop small and shop local on Shop Small Saturday. Books make great gifts, and signed books make even better gifts!

Bonus: admission to the Museum is FREE.
