The NYLN, in collaboration with Daemen College and Pi Zeta, are pleased to host a fall Nursing Research Conference November 14-15, 2014 that will focus on strengthening our profession through the cultivation of nursing research in academia and practice.

A preconference workshop on Friday afternoon will focus on writing for publication.  On Saturday, nurses, nurse leaders, nurse educators and graduate students will gather for an interactive workshop to facilitate the process of taking an idea for nursing research and beginning to develop it towards a research plan. This workshop will begin with an overview of the research process beginning with defining an idea.  Applied learning sessions will center on breaking down key components of the research process from defining the questions, aligning it with an organizational strategic plan, selecting a methodology, refining the process and submitting to an IRB or grant funder.  Lessons learned from years of research projects will also be discussed.  The day will conclude with a panel presentation on overcoming barriers to progress from the student/faculty/preceptor perspective.
