Enjoy the spirit of the season as Forest Lawn’s historic and festively decorated Forest Lawn chapel is transformed into a live theater.

Our narrator, John Lay – the first person to take up permanent residence in Forest Lawn, in 1850 – will introduce several of the new friends he’s made over the last 165 years at Forest Lawn. Brought to life by some of Western New York’s most accomplished musical theater performers, they will create musical, comical and poignant glimpses of Christmases past, when they enjoyed life on this side of the lawn.

In addition to the perennial favorites, this season’s show features some new figures, including Shirley Chisholm, the first African-American woman elected to Congress and the first to run for President of the United States; and John Dover, a private who served in the Union Army during the Civil War as a member of the first exclusively African American unit - the 54th Massachusetts Infantry. (The unit featured in the Academy Award winning film, Glory.)

Come early for a sip of hot cider before the show!

There is general seating in the chapel. Tickets are $25 / $20 for Forest Lawn members.
