Friends of the Buffalo Story will celebrate the Ferry Street Story by artistically highlighting the people and the places that have populated the Ferry Street Corridor for more than 200 years.

the stories of personal success and civic failure will be told in front of an awaiting audience. Ferry Street could be a significant connector between the East and the West Side. In order to accomplish that feat, which would help to bring the city together, we must understand the past and present social dynamics of the intersecting neighborhoods.

“That story begins in the early 19th century with a river, a ferry and daring escapes to freedom. It continues with a spring, a pristine, bubbling Cold Spring whose name gave birth to a neighborhood. In the Ferry Street Story there is a ballpark known as Offermann Stadium. There’s a busy business district at Jefferson Avenue and a jazz scene the envy of cities everywhere. And there’s an expressway that cuts through the heart of a once magnificent parkway designed by Fredrick Law Olmsted.” – Friends of the Buffalo Story

Come listen to the story of Ferry Street, and witness the sights and sounds that will help to join together the historically significant street as one street – not two streets at odds with one another.
