The WNY Coalition of Peace and Nonviolence Advocates welcomes you to the first annual joint Walk for Peace and Nonviolence Cookout and Festival to recognize and celebrate those organizations working to reduce violence here in our own communities while recognizing the injustices that exist at home and around the globe that engender violence.

Following Martin Luther King Jr.’s and Sister Karen Klimczak’s living examples of nonviolence to reduce poverty, racism and violence in all its forms, including to our environment, the Coalition is striving to support those struggling to put an end to violence in our neighborhoods, our cultures and around the world.

Violence is a dehumanizing obstacle to human potential and existence. The WNY Coalition of Nonviolence Advocates strives to support and promote our local organizations working to this end.

The Coalition believes that every culture and religion can employ appropriate nonviolent methods for positive social change that moves humanity towards a more just and compassionate coexistence.

NOTE: The WNY Coalition of Nonviolence Advocates exists exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. I
ts mission is to actively preserve and promote the broad spectrum of peace and nonviolence through educational and cultural activities that will benefit the community as a whole. The Coalition partners with existing organizations with similar community-based objectives to help achieve its mission.

The Coalition will also be sponsoring an Interfaith/Intercultural Celebration to be held on Monday, September 21st, the International Day of Peace, which is observed worldwide.
