Calling all all jazz and music lovers! Get ready for a full day of jazz. The 10th annual Queen City Jazz Festival is free, and this year, to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the historic Colored Musicians Club, the music is being expanded to three separate areas: the outdoor main stage on Broadway, upstairs in the club, and in the museum itself. And, you will have a chance to visit the treasured museum of the Historic Colored Musicians Club.

The line-up is impressive and will have you darting from one stage to the next. The performers are a cast of some of the best in the area.

The Ladies First Big Band opens the festival at noon – every reason you need to be there right at the start to see the best female jazz performers in the area
Mark Filsinger’s Eleventet band is a must see with a who’s who of jazz performers and some of the best arrangements you will hear anywhere
Doug “Trigger” Gaston’s Jazz Examples, a mainstay at the Anchor Bar weekly, gets out to show the audience what they’ve been missing at the Anchor Bar
Kelly Buchager’s “What Would Mingus Do? will show why even Charles Mingus himself would have been wowed by their original compositions
The hot jazz fusion band Gruvology takes the main stage and you get a chance to hear why they found success on their recent tour in Europe
Multi-talented musician, composer, arranger, and singer Toney Rhodes will close the show at 7:25pm and will surely have you on your feet moving to the sounds of jazz funk and more

Indoor Historic Stage Performers include: Carol McLaughlin Quintet 12:50pm; William Murphy Quartet 2:20pm; Katy Minor Jazz Quintet 4:00pm; My Cousin Tone 4:50pm; Jon Lehning Quintet 5:40pm; DMW Jazz 6:30pm.

NEW Museum Stage Performers include: Ed Chilungu 12:00pm; JazzWizz 1:30pm; Elliot Scozzaro Trio 3:10pm.

The 10th Annual Queen City Jazz Festival kicks off the 80th Anniversary celebration of the historic Colored Musicians Club building and incorporation of the local 533 musicians union.
