Preservation Buffalo Niagara (PBN) is offering a new and exclusive hard-hat tour of the Old Phoenix Brewery Building, 835 Washington Street in the Buffalo Niagara Medical Corridor at 5 pm on July 23, 2015. The building is being renovated into a mixed-used facility with at least 30 high-end, market-rate apartments targeted toward medical campus employees who want to be able to walk to work. Most will be large two-bedroom, two-bathroom units, with at least 1,000 square feet in size.
The loft-style, luxury apartments will have exposed brick and concrete floors, along with features that will accentuate the historic brewery concept. The developer, Nick Sinatra hopes to retain two current tenants – a barber and a personal trainer, both of whom work only by appointment – as amenities for the building. There will also be indoor parking in the building.
The developers are pursuing historic preservation tax credits for the project and expect to have the residences completed by next spring. The PBN tour is given by the construction site manager and shows the site “in-progress.” Hard hats will be distributed by PBN. Comfortable clothes and shoes are recommended. Cost is $25.

Register for the tour online at http://oldphoenixbrewerypbn.brownpapertickets.com  or call the PBN offices at 852-3300. For information on other PBN tours, please visit www.p-b-n.org
