Join leaders from the arts and cultural community to learn more about best practices in arts and arts-integrated education

WHEN: Thursday, February 28 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. A networking happy hour will take place following the workshops for all participants. Registration will close on February 21.

WHERE: Livingston Hall at Kleinhans Music Hall, located at 3 Symphony Circle, Buffalo, NY 14202

FEES: $20 for one person, $25 for two. Students $10 with valid college ID.  Participants can park in the Kleinhans lot.  Registrants will receive passes from area arts and cultural organizations.

 

Who should attend? 

Representatives from arts and cultural community organizations including teaching artists from throughout Western New York who are interested in learning ideas for strengthening educational programs with area schools.  


Featured presentations include:

What Arts and Cultural Organizations Need to Know about Working with Schools including Current Policies and Potential Roadblocks. Speakers: Michele Agosto (Buffalo Public Schools) and Sue Lawkowski (Erie 1 BOCES)

Opportunities to Help Teachers Address Common Core Learning Standards. Speaker: Julie Jackson-Forsberg, founder and Managing Director for Critical Thinking Works. 

An Introduction to Developing Curriculum Guides and Lesson Plans: Speakers: Nancy Spector (Albright Knox Art Gallery) and Tiffany Vanderwerf (Buffalo Zoo).
