Valentine's Day is right around the corner, and here are 5 unique Buffalo dining experiences sure to please that special someone. Act now as there is still time to get a reservation at many of these establishments. Bon Appétit!

Vera Pizzeria
220 Lexington Avenue Buffalo, NY
Just off of Elmwood near the corner of Ashland sits a city gem that doesn’t disappoint. You are transported to the 1920s with its dark prohibition era décor reminiscent of a New York City speakeasy. The food at Vera is fantastic with its diverse offering of gourmet pizzas, like the Pork Bianca with salt cured pork, caramelized onions, and asparagus; and the and small plates like the Goat Cheese Stuffed Arancini with red wine tomato sauce. However, the real reason to come to Vera is the drink service. These bartenders are true mixologists using long forgotten techniques, (mixes made in house), to craft possibly the best drinks in the city. It’s an experience just watching these guys make your drink.

Shango Bistro & Wine Bar
3260 Main Street Buffalo, NY
Looking for that New Orleans flair to your dining experience? Head to Shango to get soulful inspired cuisine in an intimate setting. You could try the classic Po-Boy in several varieties, or opt for a classic Cajun entrée like the Creole Bouillabaisse with shrimp, scallops, crab, mussels & catfish. My favorite is the Black Pepper Linguini with lobster tail, jumbo sea scallops, wild mushrooms, tomatoes, arugula, and cognac cream sauce. The wine selection is outstanding with and extensive variety to please every palate.

Vinos Ristorante
1652 Elmwood Avenue Buffalo, NY
Almost a hidden secret in the city, Vino's has developed a loyal following among Buffalo residents who enjoy a great, homemade Italian meal in a casual, relaxed but lively setting. The chefs at Vino’s take pride in preparing fabulous homemade dishes from scratch, and the service is top-notch. The menu includes classic Italian dishes, but it’s the meticulous care taken on each preparation that makes the food stand out above most. Try the Charles Diavolo with ziti tossed in delicious hot & spicy homemade sauce with sausage, my personal favorite. A nice wine selection is available to accompany your meal.

Buffalo Chop House
282 Franklin Street Buffalo, NY
Buffalo’s only true 5 Star fine dining steakhouse experience! The Chop House serves the finest prime aged steaks in a location that really sets the Valentine’s Day mood. For those not interested in beef, The Chop House offers many other fabulous dishes like Grilled Tuna Steaks, Alaskan King Crab Legs, Lamb Chops, Chicken, and all the homemade side dishes of a classic steak house. My personal favorite is the 32oz Bone-in Ribeye Steak. A vast wine selection is also available to compliment your meal. A trip to The Buffalo Chop House is a dining experience like no other in Buffalo. Bring your appetite!
