Photographers, architects and historians with an interest in the urban environment and industrial heritage  who want to develop a personal way of seeing or who are in search of an opportunity to increase their technical skills will benefit, but you do not have to be a photographer to attend the workshop. In the past, half of the attendees were there to explore and learn about the unique urban environment of Silo City and the Col. Ward Pumping Station.

The workshop will begin with an introduction and overview of the workshop, Julio Alvarez and Mark Maio will share their work done in and around the Buffalo grain industry along with a brief history of the grain elevators. Participants will be asked to provide, prior to the workshop, (5) images to share with the group as a way of introducing themselves.

The Workshop is limited to twenty-five participants. The registration fee of $695 includes the workshop, lunch (Friday/Saturday), and refreshments on site throughout the workshop. Hotel, other meals and any incidental expenses are the responsibility of the attendee.

Due to the hazards associated with abandoned industrial sites, registrants will be required to sign a waiver of liability form before being allowed on the Silo City complex.
