:::

I Set My Friends On Fire are a post-hardcore group with electronic influences formed in Miami, Florida in 2007. The band's original lineup consisted of Matt Mehana and Nabil Moo. They garnered plenty of attention from their debut single, a rendition of "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" (their version being "Crank That"), which was originally posted to their MySpace page. The band released a self-titled EP before releasing their debut album, You Can't Spell Slaughter Without Laughter, via Epitaph in 2008 solidifying themselves as mainstays in the newly rising Post Hardcore genre. Astral Rejection followed in 2011, hitting with many singles and tours alongside big Post Hardcore/Metalcore titans in support.

On September 3, 2015, Mehana played his first show in over three years, a solo set at Railroad Blues in Miami where he played material from all three albums. Soon after, a short US/Canada run was announced for November featuring an entirely new lineup besides Mehana, consisting of Nate Blasdell, formerly of The Bunny The Bear, Jonathan Rosell formerly known as JohnyTiger, along with Joe Mosey and Josh Miller formerly of Lights Out Paris. The band went on to tour Europe and Russia in January of 2016. Shortly after, Josh Miller left the band and was replaced by Chris Thompson, formerly of Time And Distance. The band toured Canada and Australia in the spring, followed up by announcing a pair of full US tours for the summer. Their newest full length release Caterpillar Sex expands on the experimental hardcore ideas that made the group famous but with a new generation twist.
