Each year, Adoption STAR offers a unique “mini” opportunity for local adoptive families to engage in a program that celebrates the richness of the African Diaspora. Between 30-45% of children adopted through our agency are Black, African-American, Caribbean-American, or multiracial in any given year. A majority of these children have been adopted transracially by non-Black parents who seek culturally meaningful connections for their children.

Adoption STAR hosts this important event each year for children and families to interact with African- and Caribbean-American leaders, movers, makers, and doers in our community who reflect WHO THEY ARE, WHAT THEY CAN BE, and the IMPORTANCE OF RACIAL IDENTITY AND CULTURAL HERITAGE as they grow.

Please join us for a fun-filled family afternoon with delicious Caribbean and Soul food, performance artists, vendor tables, crafts, and more featuring local Black-owned businesses!

THIS IS A FREE EVENT - ALL ARE WELCOME!
