Just Buffalo Literary Center is proud to present cult icon Eileen Myles for a free reading at the Evergreen Commons. NPR has said of Myles' work, "Myles is a big deal, a rock star, sort of like the Patti Smith of contemporary poetry. . . . Myles is relentlessly casual, and even joyful. She has a good time journeying through Hell, and like a hip Virgil, she’s happy to show us the way.”

Myles has been a fixture in the downtown New York scene for decades and was a feminist-queer-punk poet long before more mainstream publications were considering these terms. Identifying as “they”, Myles is the author of nineteen books including I Must Be Living Twice: New & Selected Poems (2016) and the recently reissued Chelsea Girls. After years as a fixture in the national poetry landscape, Myles has recently enjoyed a new level of institutional and critical recognition that is now in lockstep with what their readers have known all along.
