Everyone could use a pick-me-up nowadays. That's why I've put together a playlist to help you de-stress, mellow out your Monday, and bring that confidence level back up.
We've got hip hop represented from Buffalo to the West Coast (I wanted to honor the untimely death of Nipsey Hussle, and I put 2Pac's "Keep Ya Head Up" in there for the women).
We have Buffalo's Frigid Giant, who cites his past issues with drug use and self-esteem as "Setbacks" in his career (beats prod. Cee Gee) but has pushed past them, and Kendrick Lamar's "A.D.H.D," a song that defines the instafeels of Gen X and Y with perfect elocution and triple entendre.
Also on deck are LL Cool J's "I'm Bad" (he was a 20 year-old who just signed to Def Jam at the time) and Kenyatta Black's "Ruler Steps," representing some of the first borough originators of hip hop in Queens and the BK.
Relax and enjoy.
